How do I know if I need therapy?

Making the decision to find support is an important step. Support can mean having someone to bounce ideas off of in order to help make a decision, and sometimes support can mean having someone safe to witness our struggles with deeply personal issues. In today's technology-focused world, having someone to talk with to explore emotional and thinking patterns can help create the balance we all need in our hectic, multi-tasking world.

How often will we meet?

How often we meet will depend on what your goals are and the circumstances of your situation. Depending on your specific needs, therapy can be short-term in order to deal with specific needs or longer-term to deal with personal growth or engrained behavior or thought patterns. Generally, meeting once a week in the beginning of therapy is the norm. When we feel you are ready, sessions can change to every other week or any another regular schedule you are comfortable with.

What is your fee?

My fee is $120 for a 50-minute appointment. You can pay by check, cash, or credit card.

How can therapy help me?

Therapists can help support and work with on enhanced coping strategies, problem-solving skills, and stress management. In the therapeutic setting, you can be free to explore interpersonal relationship issues, family dynamics, core beliefs, unresolved childhood issues, grief, and the hassles of daily life. Therapists can provide a fresh perspective in order to solve difficult problems or "blocks" in relationships or within oneself. The benefits of therapy will depend on what you put into it and how you practice/utilize what you learn. Often times, people thing that if they "go to therapy" that will be the solution. However, the real work is that which you do out of the office.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance. However, I can provide you with a superbill/receipt to submit to your insurance company. Please verify your plan's mental health benefits for out-of-network mental health providers. Insurance providers require a mental health diagnosis for your records and often limit the number of sessions you can receive.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please let me know in advance if you will miss a scheduled appointment, and cancel at least 24 hours in advance in order to avoid payment for the missed session.
